SK Holdings C&C Joins Hands with Korea’s Strong Small Software Companies to Grow the Cloud Ecosystem
SK Holdings C&C is moving in earnest to build a cloud industry ecosystem, led by Cloud Z. Through technology cooperation with Korea’s strong small software companies, it plans to press ahead with developing SaaS (Software as a Service) products on Cloud Z and opening overseas SaaS markets.
SK Holdings C&C announced on the 9th that it had signed a ‘business and technology cooperation MOU to strengthen Cloud Z SaaS services’ with three of Korea’s strong small software companies: Tilon, Saeum Soft, and Daliworks. SK C&C plans to support the companies with technology for turning their products into Cloud Z services, SaaS product marketing, and expansion into global markets.
With this cooperation, SK C&C is accelerating the expansion of its enterprise SaaS marketplace and actively scouting Korean software companies that hold building-block solutions for each industry. The companies signing MOUs this time are enterprise solution specialists in △desktop virtualization services (DaaS) (Tilon), △groupware solutions
(Saeum Soft), and △Internet of Things (IoT) platforms (Daliworks). Their solutions support corporate management and production activities and corporate innovation through digital transformation, and are recognized not only in Korea but in global markets as well.
Tilon’s Desktop as a Service solution, launched in 2011, has won more than 70,000 customers across Korea’s public, financial, retail, and education sectors, earning recognition for its excellence. Saeum Soft’s enterprise groupware solution ‘OfficeOn’ offers specialized features beyond email, electronic approval, and messaging — including an enterprise information portal and real-time web and mobile notifications — and has secured some 200 corporate customers, holding its own in a groupware market long dominated by foreign products. Daliworks’ IoT cloud platform service Thingplus (Thing+) supports IoT-based △data collection △data analysis and visualization △automated control through rule settings all in one, and can stand up IoT services quickly at up to 70%
lower cost, so it is already being exported beyond Korea to the United States, Japan, China, France, and Portugal.
‘Cloud Z,’ the cloud service portal site and cloud service brand operated by SK C&C, delivers multi-cloud services together with global cloud partners, broadening customers’ choice of cloud services.
By accessing ‘Cloud Z’ and using its ‘multi-cloud service’ — freely drawing on the cloud services of global companies such as IBM and Alibaba Cloud — customers can use some 50 public cloud centers located not only in Pangyo but across 13 countries in North America, Europe, China, and Asia-Pacific, without regional restrictions or service interruptions. Since opening last August, ‘Cloud Z’ has steadily added customers, signing at least one new customer every day as the service sails ahead.
