[Future Company Focus] Daliworks: “This Year Marks the Start of Our Global IoT Market Push”

Daliworks (CEO Soonho Lee) will exhibit in the dedicated Internet of Things (IoT) hall at Mobile World Congress (MWC 2016), which opens in Barcelona, Spain, on the 22nd. In this hall, introduced for the first time this year, the company stands shoulder to shoulder with the world’s leading IoT companies.

The company’s flagship product is the IoT cloud platform ‘Thingplus’ (https://ThingPlus.net). Thingplus is an IoT analytics tool. It collects, analyzes, and presents data from IoT sensors, and it excels at visualizing the results for easy viewing on smart devices such as smartphones and tablet PCs. This work runs on Amazon’s cloud service, so there are no borders: IoT sensor data from the other side of the globe can be analyzed in Seoul.

Customers, of course, receive the analysis results locally. CEO Soonho Lee had the global market in mind from the very beginning. The company steadily built its name by participating in overseas exhibitions. Business that stalled at home for lack of name recognition is now taking off abroad — proof of real capability.

It was overseas markets that recognized Daliworks first. Just two years after starting the business, the company broke into the French market early last year and settled into the Spanish market in the second half. In December, it was selected as a Qualcomm partner, earning certification to integrate Thingplus with Qualcomm’s IoT Wi-Fi solution. Only five companies have obtained this certification, and the verification process took a full three months. Now, every time a Qualcomm IoT product is sold, Thingplus gains a sales opportunity as well, since it is at least one of the five options available.

In January this year, the company was named a top product in two categories — IoT cloud platform and smart city application — at the Postscapes IoT Awards. Now in its sixth year, the award selects the most significant IoT products and services of the year through online voting. CEO Lee looks forward to meeting new partners at MWC 2016.

Recognition has grown at home as well. The company is expanding cooperation with the Korean IoT industry, including Lifesemantics, Innogrid, and Korea Digital. Winning the Minister of Science, ICT and Future Planning Award at the Korea ICT Innovation Awards late last year was a major boost. “Daliworks will step up marketing activities to expand in both domestic and global markets,” said CEO Lee. “This year in particular will mark the start of our push into the global market.”
