Daliworks (CEO Soonho Lee), an Internet of Things platform company, announced on the 15th that it has signed a ‘memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the Internet of Things (IoT) city development project’ with the Seoul Metropolitan Government.

Under the MOU, the City of Seoul and Daliworks agreed to jointly build IoT services and infrastructure. The aim is to create an IoT environment in which a wide range of startups can participate and to sustain the cooperative relationship between the city and businesses. To this end, Seoul also signed agreements with SK Planet as well as Security Platform, Nextpage, Ntogether, Toysmyth, and Hana Micron.

Daliworks plans to provide its IoT platform ‘Thingplus’ (Thing+) to startups and related companies, which is expected to reduce the burden these companies face in device connectivity and server development.

“We expect that linking Seoul’s infrastructure with IoT services will enable progress in many areas,” said Younghoon Choi, Chief Information Officer of the Seoul Metropolitan Government. “Since the project is run as an open platform, the participating startups can become potential partners for one another.”

“We are delighted that Daliworks can take part in this project that the Seoul Metropolitan Government is running with startups to raise the city’s value and provide more convenience to citizens,” said Soonho Lee, CEO of Daliworks. “Daliworks plans to open up the Thingplus platform’s API (application programming interface) and support developers in building more IoT servers with Thingplus.” He added, “We plan to launch a Thingplus developer site within the year.”
