Daliworks (CEO Soonho Lee), an Internet of Things platform company, announced on the 1st that it achieved tangible results, including an export contract, at the ‘Smart City Expo World Congress 2015’ recently held in Barcelona, Spain.

The event is Europe’s largest smart city exhibition. With some 11,000 participants from more than 90 countries around the world, this year marked Korea’s second time taking part, following last year’s debut.

At the expo, Daliworks signed an online sales agreement for its platform ‘Thingplus’ (Thing+) with Libelium, a Spanish Internet of Things (IoT) hardware company. The two companies also agreed to sell packages of various sensor hardware integrated with Thingplus.

“At the exhibition, we demonstrated the ‘smart store management service’ first showcased in the Busan smart city project, and it drew strong interest from local government officials from many countries,” a Daliworks representative explained. “We also received requests from numerous companies to build IoT services on our Thingplus platform in areas such as transportation and logistics, smart buildings, and smart farms.”

“Many smart city pilot cases were introduced at this expo, but it was still hard to find deployments built on diverse data,” said Soonho Lee, CEO of Daliworks. “To build a successful smart city, you need proven real-world deployments based on a platform like Thingplus, together with integrated data analysis.”
