Daliworks (CEO Soonho Lee, www.daliworks.net), an IoT (Internet of Things) platform company, announced on the 5th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Korea Digital (CEO Youngil Jeon), a company specializing in sensors and sensor-based equipment, to jointly pursue global IoT business.

Under the agreement, the two companies will integrate Daliworks’ cloud-based IoT platform ‘Thingplus’ (ThingPlus, https://ThingPlus.net) with the more than 180 types of sensor devices that Korea Digital develops and manufactures.

According to Daliworks, Korea Digital’s wide range of environmental monitoring sensors and industrial sensors will be deployed on the Thingplus platform. The company explained that this is expected to enable a variety of IoT services in smart cities, facility environments, and smart factories. In particular, it is expected to help address facility environment monitoring and public safety issues, areas that draw strong interest from local governments.

“Korea Digital is the only company in Korea that independently develops and manufactures more than 180 types of sensor modules,” said Youngil Jeon, CEO of Korea Digital. “We operate a platform capable of calibrating large volumes of sensors with entirely different detection media, and we supply convergence sensor modules optimized for IoT environments.” He added, “This agreement will allow us to achieve significant results in the IoT market.”

“Sensor devices are the most critical part of data collection, which is the starting point of any IoT service,” said Soonho Lee, CEO of Daliworks. “With its own development and verification technology, Korea Digital will be a meaningful hardware partner for Daliworks going forward.” He added, “This year, Daliworks plans to keep expanding its hardware partnerships at home and abroad to broaden the range of applications for the Thingplus platform.”
